Diego Bernal for Texas State Rep

It’s with great pleasure that I get to announce that my friend, Diego Bernal, is running for a seat in the Texas State Legislature. Our family has known Diego now for well over 5 years now and he has been an inspiration to us in many facets. In 2008, I first learned of Diego by searching through Myspace for local beat makers. I came across his music and asked him to be part of a compilation I was working on for Exponential Records, my label.

Diego is a beat maker, a civil rights attorney, served on city council in San Antonio. As city council person, we saw him take on several important issues…everything from new streets, sidewalks, & public art to taking on greedy pay day lenders and creating a cohesive non-descrimination policy for San Antonio. The NDO policy was a difficult time for Diego, it was an issue that really made a small vocal minority in San Antonio come out and demand a recall. We have seen first hand that Diego is willing to take on tough issues and fight for what he believes is the right thing to do.

A friend of ours once told us a story about when he was a Middle School kid walking home, there was some bullies picking on him until someone pulled up and helped dispatch the bullies. Our friend told us that the person who helped was a young Diego Bernal probably still in high school himself.

This election isn’t even about Diego….it’s about the citizens and our voices. Politicians are elected to represent us, the constituents, and we need someone in office who will listen to us and take action. So I respectfully ask for your vote, for you to share this info with your friends and family, and if possible to make a donation to his campaign.

Early voting begins December 29th – Jan 2nd and the main election day is Jan 6th. Get out there!
